We prayed to Heavenly Father, we offered things to Him, we put God’s masculinity in a super subjective role making Him more important in people’s minds, more than Heavenly Mother. Children want to see both parents in God. There is tremendous heartache for God that women were limited throughout history. God wants women to value themselves and God wants to feel value in women, and through women. It doesn’t empower women to have a positive experience of having a baby in their womb if they can’t talk to Heavenly Mother about their experience. If our goal is to relate to God as a being of duality, we need to develop deeper intimacy.
Even as Mother God knows our hearts, She troubles Herself to find Her way through to us. She speaks Her mind, shares Her Heart, and beseeches us to be good, loving and gracious. She knows that the child who taunts is unhappy, the child who bullies, in trouble, the child who ridicules, lost, and most of all, on a world stage, She knows that the child who persecutes others, in the name of goodness, is a child who has not found love, not been comforted, and not reached maturity. This is everyone, not fully grown, needing comfort, and yet to own true love.
Our opportunity to grow is not removed from our grasp, but we ourselves have pushed it like a jar on a shelf out of reach, and at times, further and further out of reach. Each on their own, in their own quiet corners of the world, can give, love, share, and promote goodness, for to refuse to do so, is to become a people of belligerent behavior.
We are not belligerent by nature, but easily taunted to become those who stand up. Can we stand up to ourselves, look ourselves in the eyes and confess to our ignorance, not knowing, fully, or completely, the love of God? We shield ourselves in sacred ground, sacred words, and scriptures, but do we know the heart of our Mother God? She has traversed the years, and She has sought peace and love in Her children’s lives. We must place ourselves on the path to receive Her love and Her education.
The word of God has always been important. It’s foundation in trusting God, not so much set in stone, as in principle, yet how much do we know God? Do we know God as a Mother? Or more to the point, is a Mother in God something we all need?
No one can understand the heart of a bereaved mother, who has had children, moments, and a life-time of sharing snatched from Her. Yet, if we are claiming to love God, love Her, we must not only love Her but come to trust Her.
The first step has to be in understanding Her virtue, Her path and Her honorable character. Our Mother is multi-colored in skin. Our Mother witnessed segregation, braided Her children’s hair, and cut them down from the tree, even as Mary lay with her lifeless son Jesus upon her lap.
Our Mother promotes peace in Her home. She opens Her cupboards, airs Her home and has a fine understanding of love, welcome, honor, and goodness. She does not climb down to the pit of despair, or bunker in an earthen hollow, to run from others. Hers space is above the ground, looking, hearing, and knowing all persons.
