The Mother's nature is one of the unfathomable mysteries of life. Nothing can be said about Her directly or positively. Almost everything that can be said of Her must be couched in metaphors; She is described in terms of waves, clouds, lights, fire, voices, music, though She is none of these. I know of no other way to discuss Her than metaphorically. Her existence preceded language. Therefore, it stands to reason that She operates without recourse to or dependence on words. No amount of intellectual understanding can substitute for a direct and personal experience of Her.
The spiritual phenomenon called the Divine Mother has always been deeply interesting to spiritual seekers. Known to sages and saints throughout history, it is the Divine Mother whom we in the West address as the Holy Spirit and Mother Nature. In India, Hindus address Her as Shakti, Maya, Kali, and Durga. She is also known as Wisdom, Aum, Amen, the Word of God. By whatever name we refer to Her, She is an actual entity that exists and can be directly experienced.

It is the tremendous hope of God to engage in a true love relationship with every single human being. Yet there are a lot of people in the world that are lonely that don’t feel God is looking out for them. They don’t feel it. They might know it but they don’t feel it. We say that God is a parent because it makes sense but we have put labels on God that are severely lacking. Still, God will continue despite what we do to raise us as children because that is just who God is. God is not about forcing things down your throat. God is limited by the limit in which we have developed our character. Failed human objectivity is extremely limiting to God. Yet, God would want to express Herself uniquely through each person in their relationship with the creation since there is a mutual joy that God and people experience when there is an open relationship.
God recognizes that God doesn’t have the resources to give you what you want and need. How many times have we degraded God, put God in that position where God has to beg, borrow, and steal to give us what we want, knowing full well that tomorrow we’ll be moving on to the next thing? We must remind ourselves when we are trying to grapple with what is our human responsibility that not only do we have needs but God similarly has needs. The question is where do the needs of God fit into human understanding? Can we, as a human race, say we are responsible enough to accept that God has needs? We don’t have a lot of theology about the concept that God has needs.
